The Skycycle has filled a niche in the aviation world since 1997. In the time since, the Skycycle has steadily improved and consequently dominates the nanolight trike market.

Why is the SkyCycle so popular?
There are many reasons. The most popular reasons are that it’s so much fun to fly, easy to fly, economical, and easy to use. The capable SkyCycle is also ruggedly built, comfortable and versatile. All this in a package that is very portable, easy and quick to set up and put away. The SkyCycle delivers what so many pilots are looking for in an aircraft, a truly easy to own and easy to use, affordable, fun flying machine. The SkyCycle is ready to fly, not a kit. The SkyCycle is exempt from Sport Pilot regulations because it is a true ultralight.

What makes the SkyCycle so rugged?
The SkyCycle is made with the same 2”X2” aluminum square tubing that many two-seat heavier aircraft use. In conjunction with the aluminum frame we use 4130 chrome moly steel tubing, heat-treated spring steel landing gear and bushings throughout. All gusset plates and special parts are C&C machined for quality. All fasteners are aircraft grade AN fasteners. Since the first SkyCycle has flown the design has been refined over time with four generations, all building on the previous success. The SkyCycle uses modern hang gliders for wings. These certified modern hang glider wings incorporate easy & reliable weight shift control. The absence of moving cables, control sticks, elevator & rudder hinges decrease maintenance and add to safety over 3-axis controlled aircraft.

What makes the SkyCycle so versatile?
The SkyCycle is a bird of many missions for the diverse needs of many pilots. It was originally designed as a soaring aircraft and has since evolved into a “do anything” ultralight aircraft. Ordering your SkyCycle with your choice of engine and configuration can optimize a single style of flying or you can set it up to excel as a do it all machine. The super lightweight SkyCycle and the incredible efficiency of the modern hang glider wing let you challenge yourself to soar in silence with hawks and eagles. The low stall speed increases safety for take off and landing and the wide speed range let’s you cruise the countryside to see it all. From chasing thermals in the sky with the engine off to flying atop floats on your favorite river to flying out of fields near your home, the SkyCycle does it all.

What makes the SkyCycle so economical?
The SkyCycle starts at a very low price; however the initial savings are just the beginning. The SkyCycle qualifies as a part 103 aircraft under FAA regulation. This means you can fly without the need for a pilot’s license, FAA medical, or biannual flight checks. You can also legally perform all your own maintenance. You decide how to responsibly take care of your machine. Maintenance on the SkyCycle and modern hang glider wing are minimal. Even the fuel burn is very low. Expensive aviation fuel is not required. The SkyCycle is probably the least expensive form of motorized flight available today.

What makes the SkyCycle so easy to fly?
The SkyCycle combined with the dynamically stable hang glider wing offers a maneuverable light-handling craft that also telegraphs a positive on center feel. These qualities combine to make for an easy to fly wing. The take off speed for most SkyCycle wings is about 25 mph or slower with very gentle stall characteristics. Because of the twist in the wing, the stall is gentle and very slow to progress with much feedback and warning. The excellent engine off soaring qualities also provide an extra measure of safety. This slow engine off descent rate, the slow flight speed, and the ability to glide long distances without power create a safety advantage over many other powered aircraft. The excellent climb rate allows the more experienced pilots to easily fly from small areas. Excellent ground stability and tough landing gear help provide more suitable choices for take offs and landings.
